Executive Coaching

The focus of Executive Coaching is on the professional self, working with issues such as confidence, flexibility, innovation, communication, building and motivating teams, problem solving, stress reduction, authenticity, and making decisions.

I will support you to:

  • Increase your awareness of your strengths and explore how you may be limiting your abilities and options
  • Act authentically from a place of grounded self-awareness
  • Enable those you support to work to their full potential and reach their goals within the workplace
  • Be creative in experimenting with positive actions, to develop your confidence and your ability to communicate powerfully and effectively
  • Take the action you need to maintain your insight, vision, resilience and confidence

The coaching contract also takes in the needs of the organisation and aims to motivate you to focus on ongoing performance, which in the best-case scenario finds a fit with your own personal aspirations and ambitions.

As a qualified Myers Briggs Type Indicator MBTI® Step 1 practitioner, I am available to facilitate an assessment to enable you to identify your personality profile. The MBTI tool can help you to:

  • Improve working relationships
  • Develop your leadership style
  • Improve communication
  • Make use of problem solving strategies
  • Help manage change
  • Understand your own and others reactions to stress

As an ILM qualified Leadership and Executive coach, and member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council I have experience of coaching leaders in the corporate, public and voluntary sectors. I have particular expertise in coaching people in transition and those seeking to develop their own business potential.

“Carolyn is one of the best coaches I’ve ever worked with: she provides an excellent space for reflection, supports you to use your strengths and develops your confidence so that you surprise yourself by what you achieve. On top of that, she is an excellent facilitator and an expert in the Thinking Environment, a technique I found invaluable when making our board meetings more purposeful. I would recommend Carolyn to anyone who is looking for a coach and facilitator who makes you think and stretches your potential, as an individual or a group.”

“I have greatly benefited from Carolyn’s coaching. Drawing from her rich and diverse professional background, she offers safe space in which to unpick seemingly intractable situations. Challenging me to re-frame my thinking and to value my own personal style, she has sharpened my awareness of self-imposed barriers, and strengthened my capacity to address them with personally authentic strategies. I cannot recommend her to you more highly”.

Coaching with Carolyn helped me identify the underlying factors in my personality that influence how I behave and interact with people in certain circumstances.  As a result of the coaching my personal resilience has strengthened, and I have techniques for managing stress, which is leading to positive outcomes in my professional life.  I found the whole experience extremely useful and learnt a lot about myself that I can call upon to improve my professional performance.

“I came to see Carolyn feeling overwhelmed by work pressures and unsure how to take my project forward. Carolyn helped me to evaluate my strengths as a project manager and develop a core ethos to the project. Her unique combination of empathy, imagination and clear insight were invaluable in enabling me to rediscover my passion for the work I do, and from there, to build my confidence as a leader. Needless to say, the project has since gone from strength to strength. Thank you!”

“Thanks so much for yesterday, I came away inspired and energised. Funny how I’ve learned more strategically about running my project in one morning than I have in one year… a compliment to your excellent coaching skills!”
